Who is responsible for your data

What we do not collect

There is no registration, no account and no login. We do not collect readers' names, email addresses or payment details, and we never store an IP address in readable form.

We do not track you from one site to another: we set no profiling cookies of our own and we do not sell click data to anyone. Our only cookie of our own is the traffic measurement cookie, set from your first visit: see Statistics below. Google advertising is a separate matter and is described below.

Clicks on outbound links

Every link to a streaming service passes through an exit address of ours, which records the click and then sends you on. It serves one purpose: attributing an outbound click, so we know which listings are actually useful to readers. For each click we keep exactly this, and nothing else:

  • the title identifier, the market and the service the link leads to
  • the type of offer (subscription, rental, purchase, free) and the part of the page you clicked from
  • whether the link is an affiliate link, meaning the click can earn a commission
  • the destination address and the page you came from
  • the country, read from our CDN's geographic header: the country only, not the city and not a location
  • the browser's identifying string (user agent)
  • a hash of the IP address, salted and regenerated every day, never the IP address itself, which is not written anywhere

The hash tells a reader apart from a bot. Because the salt changes every day, visits on different days cannot be linked to each other and the address cannot be recovered from the value. Legal basis: legitimate interest in measuring which services interest readers and in detecting automated traffic.

Advertising

The site carries Google AdSense advertising. Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other sites. How Google uses data from partner sites is explained at policies.google.com.

Statistics

We use Google Analytics 4 for traffic statistics. It loads from the first page you visit, for every reader, and sets a traffic measurement cookie. Advertising signals are switched off, so the data counts visits and does not build an audience for ads. If you do not want to be counted, you can block it in your browser settings or with a tracker-blocking extension, and remove the cookie by clearing this site's data.

Retention

Click data stays in our database. The IP hash stops being usable to link visits after 24 hours, because the salt changes.
